A 27-year-old man, identified as Ajay Setia of Patti Billah village in Abohar, was run over by a train yesterday. Some people noticed a body lying on the rail track near Alamgarh village, about 5 km from here, and informed the Government Railway Police.

The police said the body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination at Abohar’s Civil Hospital.

The family said Ajay was feeling upset for the past few days. Preliminary investigation indicated that he had borrowed a bike from an acquaintance in the village to go to Khuian Sarwar, but did not return.
