The police have booked a Nurpur Bedi resident for allegedly threatening two employees of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) here today. The suspect, Surinder Kumar, was enraged when the employees went to his home to disconnect the power supply on Wednesday.

According to a complaint lodged by PSPCL Additional Assistant Engineer Balbir Singh, brothers Sohan Singh and Harmesh Lal of Jhandian Kalan village had failed to deposit their electricity bills. When PSPCL employees Baljit Singh and Somnath went to disconnect power supply, Kumar, Sohan and Harmesh’s brother, threatened the employees over phone, stated the complaint.

Following the incident, the employees left without snapping the power. The police said a case under Sections 353, 186 and 506, IPC, was registered against Kumar.
