Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid obeisance at Gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi at Ranjit Avenue here on Friday.

On a tour to Hoshiarpur for the November 20 Assembly bypoll, he stayed at Amritsar during the night. In the morning, he visited the gurdwara on the occasion of the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. The CM is learnt to have skipped visiting the Golden Temple to avoid causing inconvenience to the devotees due to the security protocol.

“I avoided visiting the Golden Temple to avoid unnecessary chaos that my visit could have caused. The devotees visit the Golden Temple to celebrate the occasion and it could have led to inconvenience for them,” he said. Avoiding political queries, he congratulated the “Nanak Naam Leva Sangat’ on the occasion and urged everyone to follow teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.
