In his address to the protesters who have been demanding a railway under bridge, government high school, library and water works at Gidderbaha village, Manpreet said, “I have come to Gidderbaha after almost a decade. I assure you that not just a railway under bridge but an over bridge will also be built here. I will soon go to Delhi to meet MoS for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu and get these projects sanctioned.”

He added, “When I was an MLA from here, no one challaned vehicles bearing registration number of Gidderbaha. I had to go to Bathinda due to destiny. Now, it has been almost a month that I have become active in Gidderbaha again.”

The BJP does not have any leader with the stature of Manpreet in this segment, which would witness bypoll shortly. This seat had fallen vacant after three-time Congress MLA Amrinder Singh Raja Warring got elected to the Lok Sabha from Ludhiana. Manpreet was elected as Akali Dal MLA for here in 1995, 1997, 2002 and 2007.
