A pall of gloom descended on Udat Saidewala village in Mansa district after the news broke out of death of Indian Navy sailor, Tarun Sharma (25).

As per information, the Indian naval ship was stationed at Kudankulam port near Tamil Nadu. Sharma died after a cyclone struck the area and flying debris hit him on the head. His body would reach his village on July 30, where he will be cremated with state honours.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
