A meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, headed by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, was held today to look into the issue of regularisation of services of contractual employees.

Along with other committee members — ministers Harjot Bains and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer — Cheema discussed the legal hurdles in the regularisation of contractual and ad hoc employees.

Representatives of various unions of these contractual employees and legal experts were also present at the meeting.
