The Punjab State Women's Commission has taken action against Punjabi singers Karan Aujla and Yo Yo Honey Singh over allegedly offensive lyrics in their songs.

The Commission has written to the state’s Director General of Police (DGP), demanding an investigation into Aujla's song "MF Gabru" and Singh's "Millionaire", both of which are trending on social media.

She has called the lyrics "objectionable" and said they demean women's dignity.

The Commission has asked for a report on the action taken by 11 AM on August 11, urging prompt legal steps against the singers.
