The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday announced the names of the Punjab Police officers and officials who will be awarded Medal for Gallantry (GM), President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PMDS) and Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS).

As per the list shared by the MHA on the eve of Independence Day, the team of Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) including AIG Sandeep Goel, DSPs Bikramjit Singh Brar and Rajan Parminder Singh, Inspector Pushvinder Singh, Sub-Inspectors Jaspreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh, and Constable Sukhraj Singh have been awarded Medal for Gallantry.

ADGP, Cyber Crime, V Neeraja and AIG, Flying Squad, Vigilance Bureau, Manmohan Kumar will be conferred with President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.

Meanwhile, Commandant 3rd Commando Battalion Jagwinder Singh, DSP, Crime, Chandigarh, Gurbakshish Singh Mann, DSP, SPU, Sanjeev Kumar are among 13 officers/officials who have been selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service.

Other officials for the award include Inspectors Amarbir Singh, Sukhbir Singh, Narinder Kumar, Sub-Inspectors Daljit Singh, Ranjot Singh, Balbir Singh, Ravinder Singh, Naresh Kumar, ASIs Mohammed Ramzan and ASI Gurdev Singh.

Congratulating the awardees, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that such recognition plays a significant role in encouraging the police force to work with more dedication and devotion, which is pivotal in a border state having manifold security challenges.
