Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr Ravjot Singh recently held a crucial meeting with officials from the Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur and representatives of the Safai Karamchari Union, including MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa.

The primary focus of the meeting was to address the regularisation of Safai Karamcharis, particularly sewermen, and to discuss concrete steps towards resolving their concerns.

Dr Ravjot Singh assured the union representatives that the Punjab government is committed to taking swift action on the regularization issue.

He informed them that the Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur has submitted a proposal to the Local Bodies Department, which includes the corporation’s commitment to bear the expenses of sewermen’s salaries. The Minister emphasized that the state government is dedicated to fulfilling all legitimate demands of Safai Karamcharis.

MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa expressed his gratitude to the Minister and voiced confidence that the sewermen’s issues would be resolved in a timely manner.
