Industries, Commerce & Investment Promotion Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond today met doyens of different streams of the industry to discuss strategies to put products manufactured in the state on the world map.

Taking feedback from entrepreneurs, the minister said the state government was working hard to address the issues of the industries. “Views are being taken from various federations, chambers, entrepreneurs and industrialists by having personal interactions with them so as to ensure industrial progress in Punjab,” he said.

The minister said Punjab could progress only if its industrial sphere witnesses growth. “The state manufactures many products which have the potential to be recognised and appreciated at the global level,” said the minister, adding that Punjab’s Phulkari, jutti, cycle industry and multi-dimensional cuisine, if marketed well, could lead to huge trade boost at the international stage. The state government was ready to render any sort of assistance to the industrialists to help in the develop the trade and commerce field, he said.

Industrialists laid stress on framing a comprehensive policy to give fillip to the local trade and industry with a view to propel them towards national and international fame.
