According to eyewitnesses, the two men posed as patients and fired multiple rounds at Dr Aniljeet Kamboj.

The doctor sustained two bullet injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Moga, where he is currently on a ventilator and in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation suggested that Kamboj had previously received extortion threats. The attackers reportedly fled the scene on foot.
