Slain singer Sidhu Moosewala’s new song titled “SYL” hit one million views on YouTube in just 30 minutes after its release this evening. It registered over four million views within a few hours.

This is the first song released after his death. It was released on the official YouTube channel of the slain singer. The song

title “SYL” stands for “Sutlej-Yamuna link” canal, which is currently under construction and was meant to share the waters of Punjab with Haryana.

The song, sung, written and composed by slain singer Moosewala, highlights various issues being faced by Punjab. Sikh prisoners and the recent farm agitation also find mention in “SYL”.

Moosewala was shot dead on May 29 when was travelling to the Jawaharke village in Mansa district along with two of his associates. — TNS

His Father’s appeal

Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh has appealed to the fans of his son to visit their residence only on Sunday so as to allow the family to come to terms with the tragic loss of their son.
