Three and a half years after the murder of famous Punjabi singer and rapper Shubhdeep Singh, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, his family on Friday evening released a new 5.17-minute video song titled “Barota” on Moosewala’s official YouTube channel, bringing the total number of songs released posthumously to 12.

Like the previous 11 songs released after his death, the latest track quickly went viral. Within just 30 minutes, it got over 7 lakh views, 2.5 lakh likes and 2 lakh comments.

As per the video description, Moosewala is the singer, lyricist and composer of the song. He even features in the video through some old footage and possibly some AI-generated visuals.

The slain singer’s father, Balkaur Singh, also appears in the video.

The teaser of the song, released a day ago, has been watched by over 3.5 million people worldwide.
