The Muktsar Civil Hospital is functioning with nearly half the sanctioned strength of doctors and one third that of staff nurses.

As a result, critical patients are referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot, and AIIMS, Bathinda.

As per information procured by social activist Anurag Sharma under the Right to Information Act, 20 out of total 41 posts of doctors are vacant.

Dr Rahul Jindal, SMO, Civil Hospital, Muktsar, said, “We have acute shortage of staff, but we are trying our best to provide proper healthcare services to the residents.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
