Muktsar: Local residents are irate as the toll plaza on the Muktsar-Kotkapura highway, which had remained closed due to the farmers’ protest for nearly two years after a bus plunged into a canal in September 2023, claiming eight lives, has reopened. A delegation of residents submitted a memorandum to the district administration, stating that the construction of the bridges over two canals was still incomplete, but the toll plaza had been made operational.

Sewa Kendra timings

Abohar: The government has decided to keep the Sewa Kendra located in Abohar subdivisional administrative complex open from 8 am to 8 pm. At present, it functions from 9 am to 5 pm. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr Mandeep Kaur said the timings had been extended keeping in view the number of people visiting the kendra every day.

Cloth shop gutted in Sunam

Sangrur: A cloth shop in Sarafa Bazar, Sunam, was gutted on Wednesday, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees to the shopkeeper. A short circuit is suspected to be the reason behind the incident.
