Fearing closure of BSc (agriculture) course, students of Government Brijindra College in Faridkot organised a protest rally. The students have been holding a sit-in at the gate of the college for the past week.

The students alleged there was no admission in the BSc course last year on the pretext that the college was not fulfilling conditions under the Punjab State Council for Agricultural Education Act.

The authorities claimed the admissions were not done last year due to the Covid pandemic, but students claimed the college was facing acute shortage of staff. — TNS
