ASI sacked for taking drugs

Harpal Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector, posted at the Sadar police station here, has been dismissed from service after he was allegedly caught on camera consuming ‘chitta’. “On the basis of the video clip, ASI Harpal Singh was dismissed on Wednesday,” said SSP Harjeet Singh. OC

DJ killed for not playing music

A disc-jockey was allegedly murdered in a marriage reception party at Kaleke village in Baghapurana subdivision of the district on Tuesday. The accused, Gindi, assaulted Avtar Singh after the latter refused to play music. Avtar succumbed to his injuries. TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
