The Punjab and Haryana High Court today made it clear that construction activity would not take place in the Aravalli hills area of Gurugram district without permission.

Taking up the matter, a Division Bench of the High Court told the state counsel in the open court that no construction activity would be allowed in the area without permission.

The order by the Bench of Chief Justice Ravi Shankar Jha and Justice Arun Palli came on a petition filed by Harinder Dhingra against the Union of India and other respondents. The order’s copy was not yet available.

As the case came up for resumed hearing, the Bench of Chief Justice Ravi Shanker Jha and Justice Arun Palli was told that construction activity in the Aravalli area was rampant in violation of rules and statutes. The case will now come up for further hearing on March 4.
