Faridkot, July 30
Aiming to generate extra revenue, the Punjab Government’s Water Resources Department has made available the expanse of rivers, canals, guesthouses and other properties for pre-wedding, film and TV serial shooting.
The government has taken the initiative to make these beautiful landscapes, having a slice of history, an attractive destination among filmmakers, production houses and those planning memorable pre-wedding shootings.
Faridkot Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar said that as per the instructions issued by the Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department, the shooting could be done at these places by paying the prescribed fee.
The DC said Rs 20,000 per day charges had been fixed for a team of more than 10 crew members for the production of a film, songs and other commercial shooting purposes and Rs 8,000 for 10 or less persons. For a pre-wedding shoot, Rs 5,000 per day would have to be paid and Rs 2,500 daily would be charged for photoshoot, he said.
In cases where shooting takes more than 15 days, a special approval will be given by the Principal Secretary, Water Resources. — TNS
