With Balvir Singh Simhar of Rajasthan being promoted, the post of Secretary has fallen vacant. Sources in the Water Resources Department say they suspect the new criteria has been tailor-made for allowing advantage to Haryana. The new criteria made it mandatory that the person applying for the post should have 20 years of work experience. Only Superintending Engineers or Executive Engineers are eligible for the post.
