A cluster officer deputed at Rahime Shah Wala village in Mamdot block to keep a check on farm fire incidents has been reportedly suspended for alleged negligence.

As per information, Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma, along with other officials, had visited the village in response to a farm fire incident. On reaching the village, the DC found that the cluster officer, Piyush Goyal, was not present on duty following which she instructed the department concerned to take action against the erring official. Subsequently, he was placed under suspension by the office of Joint Registrar, Cooperative Societies.

To keep a check on farm fires, one nodal officer has been deputed at village level and a cluster officer for 11 villages.
