Abohar, November 24

A farmer was killed while two others received injuries as three vehicles collided on the Abohar-Sriganganagar highway on Tuesday morning.

It is learnt that farmer Karan Jakhar (31) and his friend Rajat were returning to Panjkosi village after attending a marriage when their car reportedly got trapped in a truck that was carrying wheat bags and a trailer that was transporting bitumen containers from Gujarat to Bathinda. The mishap occurred outside Gidderanwali village, 18 km from Abohar, on the Sriganganagar highway.

Karan died on the spot while Rajat and truck driver Jaspal Singh of Kandhwala Amarkot village were injured. They were shifted to the civil hospital in Abohar from where Rajat was referred to a specialist hospital.
