The five-member committee, appointed by Akal Takht, is all set to summon Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale for allegedly preaching against the Gurmat philosophy.

Akal Takht had received complaints from Sikh sangat from India and abroad complaining about twisting and turning of the Gurmat ideology in the discourses of Dhadrianwale some days ago. Videos and CDs containing his discourses were also submitted following which officiating Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh constituted a committee to consider the matter.

Members of the committee are Sikh intellectuals drawn from Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjabi University and Khalsa College, Amritsar.

These members after noting the viewpoints of Dhadrianwale would submit a report to Akal Takht.

It is pertinent to mention that the five high priests had passed instructions on April 4, 2017, that Sikh preachers while reciting Gurbani and Sikh history should not narrate episodes which add confusion among the sangat.
