The district police have nabbed a peddler, who was out on bail, and recovered 1,100 injections and 110 bottles of intoxicant from his custody. Harpal Singh SP (Investigation) said ASI Gurmeet Kumar, incharge, anti-narcotics cell, signalled a biker, Hardeep Singh of Kotla Bajwara village, to stop at a naka, who tried to flee but was overpowered. During search, the police recovered the consignment. A case was registered. oc

Youth booked for abducting minor

The Nakodar Sadar police on Wednesday booked a youth, Jatinder Singh of Nathu Chahal village in Kapurthala, for kidnapping a minor. Sohan Singh of Kulaar village complained to the police that the accused kidnapped his daughter by inducing her. The IO said a case under Sections 363 and 366A of the IPC was registered against the accused and further probe is on. OC

Man duped of Rs1.80 lakh, 3 travel agents booked

The Shahkot police on Wednesday booked three travel agents, including a couple, for allegedly duping a village resident of Rs1.80 lakh on the pretext of sending his son abroad. IO Bhupindar Singh, Talwandi Sanghera police post incharge, said the accused – Niraj Attar, his wife Rajnish Kaur and Indarjit Attar, all Ludhiana residents – duped Sohan Singh of Donewal village. A case under Sections 406 and 420 IPC and 13 of the Travel Profession Regulation Act was registered. OC
