The complaint has been lodged by Ravinder Singh Bassi, president, Lawyers for Humanity. Bassi said in “Emergency”, the actress had tried to malign the image of Sikhs and had falsely mispresented facts related with the Sikh history. By doing so, she had created a division between the communities, he added.

He prayed before the court that Chandigarh SSP may be directed to register an FIR against the actress under Sections 196 (1), 197(1), 302, and 299 of the BNSS. The court has fixed September 17 as the next date of hearing into the matter.
