Modi will aerially take stock of areas around Amritsar and Ferozepur and assess the damages along the border belt where fences and border posts have also been damaged apart from vast tracts of farmlands and standing crops, including paddy and sugarcane.

Central teams are already in Punjab to make assessment of damages.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also visited Punjab this week and toured the flood-affected areas.
