Police, BSF keeping tabs on cross-border activities: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann

Amritsar, July 5

After the BSF announced that it would procure anti-drone guns, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today said the Punjab Police had been coordinating with the BSF to check cross-border activities, including supply of contraband and weapons through drones, along the International Border.

He said the police had constantly stayed in touch with the BSF to keep tabs on anti-social elements based in Pakistan. He said they were getting full assistance from the National Investigation Agency as well. Mann reiterated that the government was committed to snapping supply lines from across the border.

Mann said they would chalk out a comprehensive blueprint for the holistic development of the border and Kandi areas of the state. He lamented that both these areas lagged behind due to constant neglect by the previous governments.

He said the government would mobilise resources to ensure that every promise made with the masses got fulfilled. For this, the education and health sectors were given 16 and 22 per cent allocation in the Budget, he said. Mohalla clinics would be established and additional budget would now be spent on the facelift of government schools and hospitals, said Mann.

Meanwhile, the CM also took part in a religious event commemorating the birth anniversaries of Luv-Kush and Guru Gyan Nath at the ancient Bhagwan Valmiki temple.
