Police hold seminar to fight drug menace

The Fazilka police organised a seminar on Sunday under the newly launched ‘Project Sampark’ for the members of the Village Defence Committees.

Fazilka Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Varinder Singh Brar said the project was not just about combating drugs but fighting against organised and street crimes and anti-social individuals.

He said drugs often infiltrated from across the border and that every possible effort was being made by the Border Security Force (BSF), Army and police to curb this menace.

The SSP appealed to people to share any information regarding drug smugglers and anti-social elements with the police. ments but also building a safe, peaceful, and drug-free society.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
