Police remand of Amritpal’s aides extended by 3 days
An Ajnala court extended the police remand of eight associates of Khalistan sympathiser and MP Amritpal Singh by three days on Tuesday. They were produced in the court after the expiry of their four-day police remand.
Those produced in the court were Basant Singh of Daulatpura Ucha in Moga; Bhagwant Singh, alias Pradhan Mantri Bajeke, of Bajeke village in Moga; Gurmeet Singh Gill of Bukkanwala village in Moga; Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi, alias Daljeet Singh, of West Punjabi Bagh in New Delhi; Gurinderpal Singh Aujla of Phagwara; Harjeet Singh, alias Chacha, of Jallupur Khera village in Amritsar; Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal of Rauke Kalan in Moga and Amandeep Singh of Panjgraiyan in Kotkapura.
The police have also arrested Varinder Singh, alias Fauji, from the Dibrugarh jail. He was being brought to Amritsar after completing the necessary legal formalities after his NSA tenure ended.
“The police have sought seven-day remand of the eight accused, but the court allowed it for three day,” said DSP Gurvinder Singh.
