Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said, “No organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. We have constituted several teams for investigating the case from various angles.”

“Efforts are on to nail the culprits involved in the attack. We have successfully cracked all previous cases and the culprits in this case will also be behind bars very soon,” he said.

The police have blamed Pakistan-based agencies for trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in Punjab.

Two bike-borne miscreants hurled a grenade on Thakur Dwara temple, creating panic among the residents. CCTV footage of the incident revealed that the miscreants were also carrying a flag. One of them threw the explosive toward the first floor of the temple complex around 12.30 am on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
