Students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and Denotified and Nomadic Tribes (DNT) could now apply for the post-matric scholarship, said Dr Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities.

Under the Prime Minister YASASVI Scheme for 2024-25, Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Portal has been opened for OBC, EBC and DNT students to apply for the post-matric scholarship as per guidelines, she said. This was the first time that a portal had been opened for these categories of students, she added.

According to her, the portal has been launched to streamline the scholarship process.

The last date for students to apply for the benefit under the scheme for the academic year 2024-25 is February 15. Institutions must submit complete cases for approval by February 25, she added.

The deadline for departments/approval authorities to send online proposals for scholarship is March 5, while the final date for the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities to receive these online proposals is March 10.
