Moranwali resident, who was in touch with the Nawanshahr man, has tested positive for Covid. He was admitted to the isolation ward of the Civil Hospital, Hoshiarpur, yesterday. The elderly man is a “Pathi” (priest) in a gurdwara at Pathlava. Civil Surgeon, Hoshiarpur, Dr Jasvir Singh said his family members were in quarantine at Binewal village. They have not been diagnosed with the infection as of now.

The Civil Surgeon said so far, samples of eight suspected patients had been taken, of which one had tested positive.

He said health officials were trying to identify his contacts. At Moranwali village, teams are going door to door to create awareness and trace suspects.
