An inmate, identified as Sahil Parvesh, who was arrested under the NDPS Act on November 2, attempted to escape from custody when he was taken out after being produced before the Judicial Magistrate on Wednesday.

Kapurthala SSP Satinder Singh said ASI Udhey Bhan and head constable Major Singh were going to handcuff the accused when he pushed them and managed to escape. However, they succeeded in nabbing him.
