Taking cognisance of The Tribune report on fake vaccination entries being made by health officials, the Health Department has initiated an inquiry.

Dr Areet Kaur, Director Health Services, said she had asked the Jalandhar Civil Surgeon to hold the inquiry and submit a report within 24 hours. She said action would be taken against anybody found guilty of fudging data.

The Tribune had highlighted on Friday how department officials had issued a Covid vaccination certificate to a dead man. As per the government record, human rights activist Jai Singh, who passed away on May 19 last year due to Covid, was administered vaccination on June 15. Jai Singh was known for his work on bonded labour across the country.
