Prof Jagdeep Singh is new Punjabi University Vice-Chancellor
Prof Jagdeep Singh has been appointed the vice-chancellor of Patiala’s Punjabi University for a three-year tenure.
Earlier in February, Prof Karamjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, was given the additional charge of Patiala university Vice-Chancellor.
The appointment of a full-time Vice-Chancellor for the Patiala university has been pending since April last year.
Prof Jagdeep Singh is presently working as the Registrar of the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER), Mohali.
Prior to joining the Mohali institute, he served in the Department of Higher Education in various capacities.
He had remained as the Registrar of the Central University of Punjab for four years, where he also served as the Controller of Examinations and Finance Officer.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann congratulated Prof Jagdeep Singh on his appointment as the university VC.
Prof Jagdeep Singh is a Ph.D in biological sciences.
