The Punjab State Human Rights Commission (PSHRC) has taken suo muto cognisance of news item “Gurdaspur schools in pathetic state, 28 of 90 have no teacher” published in The Tribune on Monday.

A press note issued by the PSHRC said, “The commission comprising Chairperson Justice Sant Parkash and member Justice Nirmaljit Kaur has taken suo muto cognisance of the matter and called for a report from the Director General School Education, Mohali, on or before the next date of hearing on November 19.”
