In a festival gift on the eve of Diwali, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday announced a 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance for state government employees and pensioners from November 1 onwards.

At least 6.5 lakh employees and pensioners would benefit from the decision as the DA would increase from 38 per cent to 42 per cent, the Chief Minister said in a message on X. “Wishing all employees and pensioners a happy Diwali,” wrote Mann.
