The Punjab Government has begun recruitment for more than 2,000 teaching posts at the school level in the state, education minister Vijay Inder Singla said on Saturday.

Singla said that the state government had begun recruitment for some 2,182 teaching positions for subjects such as English, science, mathematics, Punjabi, Hindi and social science. Of that, the highest for English, with 880 teaching posts, followed by 700 for science, 450 for maths, 60 for Punjabi, 52 for social studies, and 40 for Hindi.

Singla said the positions would be filled under the category Border Area Cadre.

Candidates can apply now on www.educationrecruitmentboard.com. The deadline for applications is March 18.

The terms of eligibility are mentioned on the website, the minister said.

Singla also said that department officials have been told to complete the recruitment in a “time-bound manner”.
