The Cabinet also approved another OTS scheme for the rice millers. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
“The Cabinet approved the introduction of the Punjab One-Time Settlement Scheme for Recovery of Outstanding Dues, 2025, to reduce compliance burden in legacy cases. The scheme will be implemented from October 1 and shall remain valid till December 12,” said Finance Minister Harpal Cheema. The Cabinet also approved introduction of an OTS policy for rice millers. Each miller is required to settle accounts with state procurement agencies after the milling period is over so that he might be considered for custom milling operations the following year.
Over the years, some rice mills have not deposited their outstanding dues due to which they have been declared “defaulters”.
