Punjab cabinet reviews emergency services in border villages
Punjab stands tall and firm to protect the country, said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, after holding a meeting of Punjab Council of ministers here on Friday.
“Though some shells have been found in parts of the state… these could be the debris of missives fired from across the border. But these will be things of the past soon. The Cabinet had today given its go ahead to the Punjab government to buy nine anti-drone systems. Once installed, the enemy will be in no position to fire drones here. From Pathankot to Fazilka, we will ensure your safety,” said Mann.
He reiterated that everything was under control and there was no need for public to panic. “We are in regular touch with our DCs in six border districts. The posts of Tehsildars and Kanungos in all border districts have been filled. They need to be in regular touch with the armed forces, “ he said.
Mann said that the state government is extending the Farishtey scheme for providing free healthcare to accident victims. “The victims of any terror attack or war victims will also be treated for free, “ he said.
As tensions with Pakistan mount, the Punjab cabinet also reviewed the emergency services in the state. The ministers got a brief on preparedness of hospitals and fire stations. A review of the available ration in the state and all emergency services was also held.
Immediately after the Cabinet, ministers were asked to disperse towards the six border districts, said the CM . “ As many as 10 ministers will leave for border areas immediately,” he said.
