Ahead of the third day of Punjab Assembly’s budget session on Tuesday, Leader of Opposition and Congress MLA Partap Singh Bajwa and state party chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring rebuked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for his unruly behaviour inside the Assembly on Monday.

Bajwa along with other Congress MLAs staged a dharna at the entrance to Punjab Vidhan Sabha against the remarks passed by the CM at Dalit party MLA Sukhwinder Kotli.

The opposition Congress raised slogans against CM Mann, alleging that he was working at the behest of the BJP-led NDA government against the interest of Punjab.

The second day of the Budget session on Monday saw Opposition MLAs walking into the trap of the treasury benches, as the day proceedings began with a debate on the Governor’s Address in withdrawal of the set norms of beginning the day with Question Hour.

Unruly scenes were witnessed in the House after CM Mann engaged in a heated argument with Bajwa and other Congress MLAs.

The CM cornered the Congress as he presented a gift of padlock to Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan to lock the House from inside and stop the Opposition from running away from the debate on the Governor’s Address.

The Congress, led by CLP Leader Partap Bajwa, accused the CM of diverting the attention from the real issues by resorting to theatrics and allegedly displaying unconstitutional behaviour and making mockery of the House.
