Punjab: Four wagons of goods train derail near Lalru
Four wagons of a goods train derailed near the Lalru railway station here on Thursday afternoon.
A major mishap was averted as the wagons were carrying inflammable material in tankers at the time
of incident.
As a precautionary measure, fire tenders were deployed at the spot.
Ambala Divisional Railway Manager Vinod Kumar Bhatia, along with the branch officers, reached the site to oversee and expedite the restoration work.
No damage to railway property or staff took place, an official said.
Four trains were delayed due to the incident.
Normal traffic was restored at 2.39 pm, more than half an hour after
the incident.
The railway authorities from Patiala also rushed to the spot to remove the derailed wagons.
