A Venu Prasad is back as the Principal Secretary, Power, after the Punjab government issued transfer orders of four IAS and eight PCS officers here on Monday.

He has been entrusted with the charge of power department at the crucial time, when the government is about to roll out the power tariff concession for 49 lakh domestic power consumers.

Additional Chief Secretary Ravneet Kaur, who was heading power department and had earlier replaced Prasad, now retains the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Forests and Wildlife department.

Other than this, 2005-batch IAS officer Jaskaran Singh has been posted as Managing Director, Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation, and as Special Secretary, Jails. Mohali DC Girish Dayalan has got additional charge of Chief Administrator, GMADA.

Some PCS officers have also been transferred, with Mansa ADC Rajdeep Singh Brar and Bathinda ADC Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu swapping places. Additional Chief Administrator, Jalandhar Development Authority, Brajinder Singh gets additional charge of Secretary, Regional Transport Authority. Five other PCS officers have also been given fresh transfer orders.
