Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Vikramjit Singh Sahney, today demanded legislation against superstitious activities leading to conversions. Speaking during the Zero Hour, Sahney said it was deeply concerning that millions of people were falling victim to fraudulent practices of so-called miracles, which are used to promote religious conversions.
“The Maharashtra Government has already passed legislation against black magic and superstitions, making it a punishable offense,” Sahney said. “The Parliament must also pass a law to criminalise these sinister practices nationally, which lure innocent people into religious conversions.”
