The Vidhan Sabha paid tributes to Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, former ministers Dharam Pal Sabharwal and Ajaib Singh Mukmailpur, former Rajya Sabha member HS Hanspal, former MLAs Joginder Pal Jain, Mukhwinder Singh Buttar, and Bhag Singh, during the first day of the Vidhan Sabha, which began on Monday.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was not present during the Obituary References. The House also paid tributes to freedom fighters Karnail Singh, Kikkar Singh, and Kehar Singh. MLAs also paid tributes to artist Jarnail Singh and Jaspal Kaur, wife of Raikot MLA and father of MLA Gurdev Singh Dev Mann.

Leader of the Opposition Partap Bajwa demanded that the House pass a unanimous resolution seeking the Bharat Ratna for Dr Manmohan Singh. The MLAs observed a two-minute silence before the session was adjourned.

The session lasted for 13 minutes.
