The model code of conduct for the Zila Parishad elections in Punjab is likely to be announced Friday evening.

Elections for 23 Zila Parishads and 154 Panchayat Samitis, pending since May, have faced multiple delays due to the severe floods that swept through several districts in August and September.

The polls were first deferred to October and later postponed to December. The State Election Commission is now expected to release the final election schedule for next month.
