Notably, over one lakh acres are already hit in the district and the fresh rain has increased the worries of farmers. The cotton and paddy crops have already got damaged in a number of villages. Some agriculture experts said the fresh rain would increase the troubles of farmers. Notably, some drains were already overflowing in the region.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had visited the district on Thursday to meet the affected farmers and ordered special girdawari of the crops. Besides, he had ordered the top officers in the district administration to speed up the drainage work.

I demand strict action against them. The manholes are overflowing and nobody is paying any heed towards it.”

Meanwhile, a set-up of an entertainment fair, which was built in the shape of Titanic ship, collapsed due to rain and speedy winds at the grain market in Malout town today. Luckily, no one got injured.
