At a programme organised in Moolian Wali village by shrimp producers, "The foremost problem of the shrimp farming is that farmers have to bring the seed from West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Karnatka and shell out 30 per cent extra amount. Besides, about 25 per cent of the seed died during the transportation."

He has suggested that Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan should join hands to make arrangements of the seed in this region of Punjab belt to make it viable for the farmers. He urged the Punjab Government to release subsidy on shrimp farming on time. -- OC
