A retired ASI, Om Prakash, was shot dead by an unidentified motorcycle-borne assailant near DD Mittal tower on Multania Road this evening.

SP City Narinder Singh stated that the incident occurred when Om Prakash had gone to get milk. The attacker reportedly chased the former cop and fired at him from a 12 bore rifle. The victim was rushed to the Government Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
