Due to spread of Covid, all doctors and paramedical staff in the Health Department will continue to work irrespective of their age of retirement till September 30.
All doctors and paramedical staff who would be on this extension would not be eligible for any promotion or additional perks, reads an order issued by the Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, issued on Saturday evening.
Calling it a one-time measure, the Principal Secretary’s circular reads that keeping in view the emergent situation due to spread of Covid, the orders had been issued under the provison of the Punjab Civil Services Rules with the approval of the CM.
In Faridkot, the Deputy Commissioner today issued orders that all rural medical officers and paramedical staff in Panchayat Department’s dispensaries would work under the command of the Civil Surgeon of Faridkot till further orders. So far, the staff in these dispensaries worked under the command of the Zila Parishad. — TNS
